Terms of Service
Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Operator and acceptance
KnockPortal is operated by Abalon Construction Management LLC, a company organized in North Carolina, United States. Our registered address is 4030 Wake Forest Rd, Ste 349, Raleigh, NC 27609. Contact us at info@knockportal.com.
These Terms govern the KnockPortal services for which you accept them. When you create or save a business profile, subscribe, or authorize a mailing or Autopilot rule, we present these Terms for your acceptance. You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for the business. You represent that you have that authority. “You” means that business, except where a payment authorization or applicable law requires an individual's own agreement.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Accepting these Terms does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
2. The service and its limitations
KnockPortal helps contractors choose areas for direct-mail advertising using public permit and address records. Available features may include the map, address selections and exports, postcard preparation, one-off mailings, Autopilot rules, mailing reports, and the comparison of your mailing history with inspection and job records you provide. Availability is limited to the cities, trades, and functions identified in the service.
Autopilot is the principal automatic mailing mode. You may instead prepare and authorize a one-off mailing. Browsing or preparing a preview does not by itself authorize a charge or production order.
A recorded permit does not establish that work has been sold, started, completed, or performed by you. An address without a qualifying permit may still have had the work done. Records may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, or inaccurate. The map does not determine a home's condition or an occupant's needs.
We do not supply verified sales leads, introduce homeowners to contractors, assign exclusive territories, or guarantee inquiries, contracts, revenue, delivery to a particular person, or marketing results. Other contractors may select the same areas. Matches between your mailing history and your job records do not establish that a mailing caused a job.
Live printing is available only when expressly enabled for the relevant service. A demonstration, preview, or test order that is identified as such is not a mailed postcard.
3. Accounts and sender eligibility
You must provide accurate business, contact, and license information, protect account access, and promptly report unauthorized use.
Sending is available only to approved businesses advertising their own roofing services within the pilot's enabled coverage. You must hold the licenses and classifications required for the advertised work. We may require supporting information and recheck eligibility. A subscription or successful payment does not create sender approval.
You must notify us of relevant changes in license status, business identity, contact details, advertising claims, or your authority to use materials. Sending may be held if an approval expires, is suspended, or is withdrawn.
4. Subscriptions
A subscription covers the paid functions identified before purchase for the stated city and trade. The price, currency, billing period, renewal terms, and included functions are displayed before you subscribe.
Printing and postage are not included in the subscription price. Mailing charges are separate. Enabling, pausing, or stopping an Autopilot rule does not start, cancel, or pause subscription renewal.
By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorize the subscription charges disclosed at checkout until you cancel renewal. You may cancel through the cancellation control in your workspace. If you cannot use it, contact info@knockportal.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period unless we state otherwise or law requires otherwise.
We do not refund a subscription period solely because you cancel, do not use the service, or pause a rule, except where required by law or expressly promised. This does not excuse an incorrect charge or our failure to provide an agreed paid service.
We will give at least 30 days' notice before increasing your recurring subscription price. An increase applies only to a future billing period after that notice. You may cancel before the increased renewal charge. We will obtain additional agreement where required.
5. Prices and payment methods
Before a one-off payment or Autopilot authorization, we disclose the postcard unit price and the way the charge is calculated. The unit price includes printing and postage. We do not add undisclosed printing or postal fees. Any applicable taxes or other mandatory amounts must be disclosed before you authorize the charge.
Stripe processes payments. We retain payment references and limited card information, such as the last four digits, rather than complete card details.
Saving a card does not by itself authorize every future payment. You must separately authorize the relevant subscription, mailing, or Autopilot use. You must be entitled to use the payment method and give any individual authorization required for the account concerned.
We do not change a paid order's agreed price. Changing the unit price for an existing Autopilot rule requires a new authorization before the changed price is charged. We do not increase your spending cap without your authorization.
If special notices or authorizations are required for a payment method, they apply in addition to these Terms.
6. Autopilot authorization
When you turn on a rule, you choose its city, trade, ZIP-code zone, radius, postcard count per permit, spending cap per run, repeat window, postcard text, and the settings shown to you.
For the currently available weekly mode, a run is scheduled on Monday under the schedule disclosed for that rule. We use qualifying permit records for the relevant period, apply the required checks and exclusions, and calculate the mailing charge as the number of postcards to send multiplied by the authorized unit price, within the rule's cap.
You authorize those automatic mailing charges without a separate approval of each run, subject to required approvals, checks, payment requirements, and these Terms. If there are no eligible postcards, no mailing charge is made.
Each rule has its own cap. Several rules can produce separate charges. The sum of individual caps is not reduced by an unstated company-wide limit. We do not promise an aggregate company cap unless one is expressly provided.
Changes to the rule's zone, radius, postcard count, spending cap, repeat window, or text return the rule to draft and require a new authorization. Changes to company information or a logo may require review of a new material version without themselves reauthorizing an existing rule.
Replacing the company card requires a new payment authorization for each affected rule. A single confirmation may cover the rules clearly listed in the confirmation, with a separate record for each. Replacing the card does not automatically resume paused rules.
You can pause or stop a rule in your workspace. This cancels runs whose payment processing has not started and prevents new charges under that paused or stopped rule. A payment already in progress may complete. A paid mailing may still be produced under its paid version while its sender and material approvals remain valid.
A definitively unsuccessful charge pauses the rule. We do not automatically retry that run's charge, and the unpaid mailing is not printed. Resuming the rule starts from the next scheduled run; the unsuccessful run is not carried over.
7. One-off orders, production, and refunds
Before approving and paying for a one-off mailing, review both postcard sides, business and license details, contact information, QR destination, recipients, quantity, unit price, and total price. Your authorization applies to the version and recipient set presented for payment, subject to the required exclusions.
Payment is completed before release to live production. A paid order's artwork and paid terms remain fixed. Later profile or artwork changes do not replace that order's paid proof. We may still hold or refuse an order if its approvals become invalid, the material is unlawful, or an applicable restriction prevents production.
Once a paid mailing is released to production, it cannot reliably be recalled or changed. Paying does not guarantee a right to cancel an order while it is being processed. These limits do not remove your right to an agreed refund or other remedy required by law.
If we exclude a paid address and confirm that its postcard was not printed, we refund the full mailing amount paid for that postcard, including any applicable tax charged for it. If we reject an entire paid mailing and confirm that it was not printed, we refund its full mailing charge and applicable tax. We do not substitute recipients without authorization.
Refunds use the original payment method. Provider and bank processing times may affect when the refund appears. Subscription charges are governed separately.
An uncertain provider response is not proof that a postcard was not printed. We check production status before determining whether a refund, correction, or further submission is appropriate. A provider's acceptance or postal submission is not confirmation that an individual recipient received or read the card. Errors and mandatory remedies remain subject to applicable law.
8. Content Policy, materials, and review
The pilot does not support consumer messages, political campaigning, fundraising, advertising for unrelated third parties, or images other than an approved business logo.
You represent and warrant that your business identity, license details, contacts, and return address are accurate; your advertising claims are truthful and supported; and you have the rights and permissions necessary for submitted or approved materials. Required license information and other legally required disclosures must appear on the mailpiece.
You may not submit unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or rights-infringing material. Do not impersonate a person or organization, disguise advertising as an official government notice, falsely imply an inspection or knowledge of a property's condition, or claim you worked nearby without a factual basis. Do not include sensitive personal information about a recipient. Do not make prohibited bonding or licensing claims.
You authorize us and our production providers to store, process, reproduce, format, print, and mail approved materials to deliver the service. You retain your rights in those materials. Permission to use your logo for an order does not give us permission to present you publicly as an endorsing customer.
We use automated checks and human review. New substantive advertising versions and new logos require human approval under the pilot procedure. Unchanged materials may use a valid earlier approval. Each release remains subject to the required checks. Approval is permission to use our workflow, not legal advice, certification of legality, or a guarantee that every issue has been identified.
We may request evidence or corrections, hold or refuse production, or suspend sending where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, comply with legal or provider requirements, or address a credible risk of misuse. Approvals may be withdrawn if relevant facts change.
We ordinarily provide a general reason for a hold or refusal. We may withhold details that would facilitate misuse, compromise security or an investigation, reveal another person's information, or violate law. There is no separate formal appeal process. You may email info@knockportal.com about a factual error or submit corrected materials for a new decision.
9. Address restrictions and recipient concerns
You must respect applicable mailing restrictions and requests directed to your business to stop mailing an address. Do not evade a restriction by changing an account, sender name, or address format.
We apply company exclusions, repeat settings, the service's 30-day cross-sender mailing restriction, and applicable suppression records. Certain checks may be explained through aggregate counts without identifying other senders. These checks are not a guarantee that every external restriction has been discovered.
Recipients do not need an account to report a mailpiece or ask that future mailings through KnockPortal from the identified advertiser stop at their address. Contact info@knockportal.com with the postal address and enough information to identify the advertiser or mailpiece. We may apply a broader restriction when appropriate. A request cannot recall mail already in production or the postal system.
10. Inspection and job records
You may provide address, date, and inspection or job records only where you have authority and a lawful basis to provide them. Give any required notices and obtain any required permissions. Do not upload unnecessary names, financial information, health information, or other sensitive data.
We use these records to provide your company with matches against its own mailing history, on your instructions. They are not published or used for another contractor's marketing. You may correct or delete them using the service.
Where we process these records as your service provider, contractor, or processor under applicable law, the processing must be covered by the appropriate data-processing terms. We do not sell or share those records or use them for unrelated purposes. Our processing of account, billing, security, and public-source information is addressed separately in the Privacy Policy.
11. Suspension and ending the service
We may restrict access or sending for material violations, invalid approvals, nonpayment, security concerns, or legal obligations. Where reasonably possible, we explain the general reason and permit correction. Urgent restrictions may take effect immediately.
Ending an account or rule does not erase already initiated payments, paid production orders, agreed refunds, or obligations that reasonably survive termination. Retention and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy. A restriction imposed by us does not eliminate a refund or remedy you are legally entitled to.
12. Responsibility for third-party claims
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify KnockPortal against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable defense costs to the extent caused by your unlawful materials, lack of required rights or licenses, materially false representations, or breach of these Terms.
This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by KnockPortal's own negligence, unlawful conduct, or breach of these Terms. We will provide reasonably prompt notice and reasonable cooperation. No settlement may impose an admission, nonmonetary obligation, or unreimbursed payment on the other party without that party's written consent.
This section does not restrict a regulator's authority or a right that cannot lawfully be waived.
13. Service warranties and liability
We provide the service with reasonable care, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free public records, a specific delivery date, or a marketing result. Except for our express commitments and warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, the service and public-source information are provided as available without additional implied warranties.
To the extent permitted by law, KnockPortal is not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost goodwill arising from the service.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $1,000 and the amounts your business paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or amounts we owe under an agreed refund or other express payment obligation. They do not remove remedies that applicable law makes nonwaivable.
Your responsibility for third-party claims is governed by Section 12 and does not shift losses caused by our own conduct to you.
14. Governing law, disputes, and changes
North Carolina law governs these Terms, without its conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. Subject to nonwaivable jurisdiction and venue requirements, courts in Wake County, North Carolina, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina will hear disputes arising from these Terms.
We may update these Terms. We post the effective version and date and give notice of material changes affecting existing accounts before they take effect where reasonably practicable. We do not use a Terms update to apply a higher Autopilot price, increase a cap, rewrite a paid order, or bypass a required new authorization.
These Terms, the offer you accepted, the relevant payment authorization, and any applicable data-processing terms form the agreement for the service concerned. A later notice does not replace a required disclosure or consent before a charge. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law.
Questions, factual corrections, privacy requests, content complaints, and unauthorized-payment concerns may be sent to info@knockportal.com.
